Matthaios Tsahouridis played Karolos Voutsinas's 'Allos Kosmos' using the Greek musical instrument Pontic Lyra on 'Lighter life', the short film directed by Andonis Sotiropoulos. The film was the winner of the Athens "48 Hour Film Project", which ran across 81 cities around the world.

It was awarded: Best Script, Best Music, Best Sound, Best Editing and Best Production. The Pontic Lyra will now be heard at the Filmapaloosa International Film Festival in the U.S.A. and at the Cannes Festival next year.

New Album coming soon...

Makoulis is working with singer Stathis Nikolaidis on a new Pontic music album. The album will include traditional table songs plus seven new Pontic melodies composed by Matthaios Tsahouridis. The recordings are taking place at the Blue Studios, London, with Andrew Tulloch.
